One extremely strong build that players can use is the Oath of the Motherland Build, which is done by selecting the Oath of the Motherland at level three. Players should ensure that they properly invest in their Paladin to get the best build possible for what they want. The idea is to keep this right around the charisma ability. After this players will want to ensure that they keep wisdom around 10 to 12, and then they can dump both dexterity and intelligence to boost their other skills however they wish.ĭepending on how the player chooses to play their Paladin they can alter the character in different ways. The player then also needs to ensure that they invest a decent amount of points in constitution, as well as this, will determine hit points. Not only does this allow for spellcasting, but it also grants the Paladin better chances to intimidate and persuade people. #SOLASTA CROWN OF THE MAGISTER CLERIC BUILD FULL#Those who want to make full use of the Paladin's spells will want to drop enough points in charisma to put it just under the strength score. The best bet is to try and increase the strength score to about 16 and then dump dexterity.Īfter that, the player will then want to invest points in the charisma score as well, as this is what the Paladin's spellcasting will be based on. ![]() Theoretically, they could increase dexterity instead and then use weapons that require that skill, they would lose out on a lot of the damage capabilities that the Paladin brings to the table. This will increase the Paladin's ability to use strength-based weapons. This is hands down one of the best adaptations of 5th Edition. Bonus actions are here as well, in our playthrough of the demo, Rogues had Cunning Actions and Clerics could cast bonus action spells and Cantrips or move and attack. You’ll find things like opportunity attacks, and the ability to intersperse your movement with attacks or other actions. If you loved aspects like controlling a whole party of custom characters from games like Icewind Dale, or if you liked the dungeon crawling of the original Baldur’s Gates, this game is sure to hit notes that BG3, being developed by Larian and based off of their Divinity engine, won’t. This one is built off of the 5th Edition SRD, however, so you won’t come across Mind Flayers, but you will find a very faithful adaptation of the rules and mechanics of the game.
